Another mobile phone with GTK+

Posted by javi vazquez on December 13, 2006

Going from barrapunto [Spanish] to canalpda [Spanish], I finally got the original source –linuxdevices [English]- of the news about a new mophile phone using Linux and GTK+.

The name of the mobile phone is Neo1973, the free software platform is openmoko and the company is the Taiwanese First International Computing’s (FIC’s).

Nokia 770, Maemo and the Finnish Nokia were the only other 3 elements related to “mobile phone with GTK” I had on my head so far, but Neo1973 and openmoko were presented more than one month ago in Amsterdam.

Good news for GNOME and good news also for our R&D GNOME handhelds project!
