About Us #

We’re the Igalia Web Languages team. We work on shaping and shipping JavaScript standards. We participate in the web standards bodies like TC39, WHATWG, and WinterTC, assisting in designing and advancing core platform features, turning specification work into interoperable code across engines, runtimes, and tools.

In practice, that means pushing forward proposals that developers touch every day, most recently, modern date/time APIs (Temporal), better number and measurement primitives (Decimal) among others. We also engage platform work such as AsyncContext’s integration, internationalization and messaging standards (including Unicode MessageFormat).

You'll mostly find us editing specs, convening working groups, writing polyfills and tests, or landing implementations in WebKit, V8, Node.js, and Babel.
