About
I’m Jan Varga, a software engineer at Igalia.
My career in software engineering began with building information systems using open-source technologies, including early versions of the Gecko browser engine. That eventually led me to Netscape, then Mozdev Group. I later spent over a decade at Mozilla, working primarily on browser storage architecture and implementation.
At Igalia, I contribute to Firefox across various areas, while also exploring other projects such as Servo.
I write about browser engines, open source, building and maintaining software, engineering culture, different ways of organizing companies, and occasionally other things that interest me.
This is where I write some of it down.
