Update on what happened in WebKit in the week from October 5 to October 12.
A CSS invalidation bugfix, moving steps for optgroup and hr elements, and a handful of fixes to the Layer-Based SVG Engine compose this week's bag of updates, changing to a calmer pace compared to the packed weeks we've had recently!

Fixed buffered-rendering="static" for SVG <image> elements in the Layer-Based SVG Engine (LBSE), where the image used to be drawn at the wrong position inside its offscreen buffer and without its own transform. The image is now painted into the buffer relative to its own position, and the buffer is drawn back with the current transformation, which matches the behaviour of the legacy SVG engine.
Added support for pointer-events: bounding-box on SVG text in the Layer-Based SVG Engine (LBSE), so clicks that miss every glyph now fall back to hitting the text's bounding box (see pointer-events). It also fixed hit testing of transformed children in SVG containers, which were being tested a second time without their transforms.
Fixed text not following its path in the Layer-Based SVG Engine (LBSE) when a <textPath> points to a path that doesn't exist yet. The text is now laid out along the path as soon as that path appears in the document, which also covers removing and re-adding the path or changing href to another path.
That’s all for this week!
