Last week planet GNOME was full of “Going to” posts. This is my traditional “Coming from” post. Most of my events-related posts are written after the event itself. I blame the need to write slides. Anyhow, I’m back from FOSDEM 2013.<\/p>\n
This is the fourth time that I’ve attended FOSDEM, making it my second most-visited Free Software event\u00a0 (GUADEC being the first), and the third time that I have given a presentation\u00a0 there.<\/p>\n
This year, instead of my usual “GNOME Accessibility State of the Union” talk, I spoke about what is arguably one the biggest changes in Accessibility for Free desktop environments: \u201cHow GNOME Obsoleted its \u201cEnable Accessibility\u201d Setting\u201d\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0 (aka “Accessibility Always on”). The turnout was great in spite of it being the first session Sunday morning. I don’t see the slides uploaded on the\u00a0 FOSDEM page, so I’ve provided them here<\/a> for those of you unable to attend.<\/p>\n Additionally,\u00a0 I attended several interesting talks (the number of interesting\u00a0 talks at FOSDEM is overwhelming), met people that I only see at this kind of event and also participated in a small (somewhat informal) release-team meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n Finally I would like to thank Igalia<\/a> for sponsoring my trip this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Last week planet GNOME was full of “Going to” posts.
