GNOME in Galician language

Posted by javi vazquez on November 27, 2006

The Supercomputing Center of Galicia (CESGA) is financing the correction of the localization to Galician language in the free desktop environment GNOME.

The local company selected to coordinate the effort to improve GNOME’s Galician language localization has hired us –Igalia– to help with the quality tests.

Xunta of Galicia, through CESGA, is putting money to improve the localization of free software applications to Galician language. Open Office 2, Firefox or GNOME desktop are only some examples.

Having free software applications correctly located in the official language or our region is a mandatory previous step to install free software in the public government administration.
