NSLU2

Debian and SlugHey! I’m a lucky man who owns a Linksys Network Storage Link for USB 2.0 Disk Drives (NSLU2), known also as Slug.

As other users, I overclocked it (well, better said, removed the underclock ‘feature’ ;-) ) and I installed Debian Stable.

Unfortunately, some of the applications that are in Debian Stable are a bit old. So I backported some applications from the latest version to Debian Stable.

You can find some of them here. Feel free to download and use. And don’t forget to send me kisses by email if you find them useful! :-)

aMule

aMule is a peer-to-peer file sharing application, designed to connect to the eDonkey and Kad networks. As Slug doesn’t have any graphical capability, aMule has a daemonized version that can be accessed in several ways: command line, with a graphical client or even through http.

If you plan to install aMule in your Slug, this are the latest version of the aMule daemon.

rTorrent

rtorrent is a BitTorrent client based on LibTorrent.  It uses ncurses and is therefor ideal to use with screen. Among its features it uses an URL or file path to add torrents at runtime, is able to stop/delete/resume torrents, optionally loads/saves/deletes torrents automatically in a session directory, supports safe fast resume, and shows lots of information about peers and the torrent.

If you plan to install rTorrent in your Slug, this is the latest version of rTorrent.

Also, you can download the .rtorrent.rc configuration file I’m using.
